Celebrate Women, Celebrate YOU
Today marks the start of Women's History Month ...
With all of the crazy and sad things going on in this world I want you to look inward a bit. This month I want you to think about a few things. First & foremost, I want you to think about what it means to be a woman. Think about HOW Fu*#$&# BEAUTIFUL it is to be a WOMAN and at how POWERFUL we are as WOMEN and to be proud of it.
I want you to think about the women of the world, how different we all are and yet how exactly alike we all are.
I want you to think about the ones who came before, who paved the way for us now. The ones who continue to suffer in oppression in other parts of the world. The women throughout history who died simply because of their sex. The woman all through history who stood up and fought when the world expected them to shrink away. The women who said enough and made a conscious decision to fight for change.
I want you to think about the woman who gave you life and all she went through as she raised you. I want you to think of the trauma she might have inherited from her mother, and what her mother might have inherited from her mother before that and then give them grace for doing the best they could with the tools they were given while also facing the world. I want you to look into yourself, give yourself grace, and give yourself permission to grow to be more than you are right now in this very moment in spite of any fears.
We are the life-givers and the nurturers of the world, we are the mothers and the nurses and the wives, yes. BUT we are also the HEART of the world, and the strength of and the warriors that push it forward. We as women ARE the warriors and goddesses that push it forward.
Today I want you to look around at the women in your life, I want you to look AT YOURSELF, I want you to look at the women all around the world doing incredible things despite impossible circumstances...
So I repeat, I want you to think about what it means to be a woman, at HOW FUCKING BEAUTIFUL IT IS TO BE A WOMAN. How POWERFUL WE ARE AS WOMEN and then be proud of that! Embrace it.
